The new guy with his first boat
Hi everyone!
So I picked up my first boat this past July and have been obsessed with caring for it. I live on a lake so it got used regularly before the weather turned. I have never been one to do more than drive my cars through a gas station wash, but for some reason this boat has changed my mind set on how I treat all my vehicles. I'm currently researching equipment and products I need to get the gel coat shinning again. Most of the hull is in good shape but lack depth with light oxidation on the transom. I currently have micro fiber towels and a box of random car cleaning stuff. Would love to hear what recommendations everyone has for a new to detailing guy. Thanks |

Hi CheeseSteak!
Beautiful boat you have there! Love the yellow color. We have a boat detailing class coming up in April where you could completely learn everything you need to know to clean your boat inside and out and also get a chance to play with lots of tools, pads and products and by doing this you would find out which types of tools you like best before ever spending a dime. Check it out here, Boat Detailing Classes in 2015 Besides that, if this were my boat I would invest in a Flex 3401 forced rotation/forced oscillation polisher, some wool pads and foam pads and a good one-step cleaner/wax for restoring and maintaining the exterior gel-coat hull.
