Waxing your Boat - Dockside Tips #4

"Frequent boat care is easy boat"

The above statement is so true when it comes to maintaining the finish on your boat or any marine craft. Marine environments are hash to any surface as any boater knows. The key to keeping your gel-coat finish or painted finish looking new and shiny is to regularly maintain the surface with a premium quality wax especially formulated for harsh marine conditions.

Marine 31 Gel Coat Carnauba Wax + Sealant contains real Carnauba wax blended with synthetic polymers to create a wax that offers excellent gloss and shine with long lasting protection.

This wax is for finishes in good to excellent condition that show no sign of oxidation. The key to getting great results with this product is to regularly use it to KEEP your boat's finish in excellent condition. It's the regular application that keeps the finish clean, smooth and protected. It's only when you neglect your boat that it goes downhill and the oxidation process begins.

Once your boat's exterior oxidizes, now you have to either compound the finish or use a one-step cleaner/wax. Marine 31 makes great compounds and cleaner/waxes but if you put your boat on a regular maintenance program you can maintain the high gloss finish you already have and then you won't have to do these more aggressive and time-consuming steps.
